Participants in the 90-minute "Creating Your Career Path in Nutrition and Dietetics Seminar" will:

• better understand what a non-traditional career can look like by hearing about one RDs career path involving working on NHANES, in private practice and global health

• see a video revealing the inside the NHANES trailers

• meet dozens of unique RDs carving out their unique paths around the globe

• learn what an informational interview is, and how to conduct one

• discover what their unique personal core values are that will lead to a meaningful career

• receive simple, actionable and COVID-friendly next steps to take action today

• connect with a mentor happy to stay in touch with them long after the presentation is over

The presenter, Pamela Malo, MHS, RD, KYT is a masters-level dietitian who has offered this course for the past 8 years to internships across the country. In 2012 she spoke about her non-traditional career path at FNCE. Pamela utilizes a multi-media Prezi presentation to deliver the information and interactive questions to keep participants engaged. She believes now more than ever dietetic interns need to be reminded of the bounty of options that await them, even amidst COVID-19. After the presentation, she is delighted to remain available for follow-up questions, interview practice, and general support. She is passionate about supporting interns, expanding their ideas of what is possible, and creating a warm welcome as they make the journey from intern to RD.
